Build History

  • 11/07/2019 – Took pictures of package
  • 2/01/2020 – Opened package and took pictures of components, instructions, and pic card. Scanned components, instructions and card picture.
  • 2/02/2020 – Marked MM tube at 4/4″ & 1/8″ respectively at each end of BT. Cut slit into motor mount tube at 1/8″ mark for insertion of end of engine hook. Glued engine hook retainer over engine hook at 3/4″ mark. Glued aft end centering ring, the ring with a split, up against the engine hook retainer. Glued the other centering ring flush with end of motor mount tube. Filleted centering ring/ motor mount tube joints. Cut out from a copy of page 2 plans the body tube slot guides. Glued a disk inside of the main body tube using the nose cone shoulder as a guide for the depth.
  • 2/03/20 – Glued spacer to to plain disc with center hole and then glued the perforated disc of the card stock to it. Punched out spacer tube guides from card stock.
  • 2/04/20 – Glued small body tubes to the main and upper tubes using the alignment tools and guides provided. Placed Guide lines in alignment with the fins and along the entire main and upper body tube lengths. Tlued the small tubes so they were even with the guide lines and the slots of both the small body tube and either the main or upper body tubes were in alignment. One of the small tubes got disturbed and became misaligned. It was removed and the excess glue was removed with a sanding stick.
  • 2/05/20 – The small body tubes were glued to the main and upper body tubes so the slots of each tube was aligned with each other. Later the joints of the body tubes were filleted. All fins were glued along the fin marking guide lines and the fin/body tube joints were filleted.
  • 2/06/2020 – Cut launch lug in half and glued in fin/body tube joint at locations from the aft end at 8″ and 17″. Cemented small nose cones to all openings of small body tubes. Pushed motor mount assembly into rear of main body tube and adjusted depth by pushing tail cone in place. Removed tail cone and cemented it and the motor mount assembly into the rear of the main body tube. glued the shock cord into the shock cord mount and then inside of the forward end of the upper body tube by at least 2″. This completes construction of the model except for painting and decals.
